Anne Marie Shewfelt, MDiv, RP, RMFT
Individual, Couple, and Family Therapist, Supervisor
Registered Marriage and Family Therapist
I work with individuals, couples, and families including children. I offer a relational approach which creates an emotionally safe, non-judgmental place for my clients to share the content of their stories, circumstances, and life experiences. I have worked with a wide range of clients within the realms of cognitive, emotional, behavioral, and relational issues, however at the root of nearly all presenting problems is the emotional impact of a dissatisfying relationship. My specialty in relationships has therefore enabled me to work confidently, and effectively with my clients regardless of their identified issue.
While specializing in relationships, I use Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Attachment Theory, and Relationally Integrative therapy. The latter draws from Cognitive Behavioral, Psycho Dynamic, Dialectical, Solution Focused, Mindfulness, Attachment and Emotionally Focused therapeutic orientations. I love what I do and I feel honored to have been able to help hundreds of clients to experience personal healing and growth.
Christina Dimakos, MA
Individual and Couple Therapist
Masters of Psychology, Doctoral Student
I have over a decade of experience conducting psychological research in university and hospital settings. I therefore bring a strong knowledge base in theory of human development as well as relevant clinical theory and experience. I work with both individuals and couples experiencing distress or dissatisfying relationships. I take a bio-psycho-social approach to assessment and treatment – this means I pay attention to biological, psychological, and social factors that impact thoughts, emotions, behaviours and relationships. I use the principles of attachment and the modality of emotionally focussed therapy in my work with clients.
Psychotherapy is conducted in a safe, confidential setting where you are free to share whatever is on your mind. I am here to listen and respond in a kind, non-judgmental way. Together, we will explore what may be limiting you in life and create a plan for moving forward through therapy.
Research shows that the single most important factor in therapy is finding the right fit with a therapist, because it is through positive relationships that we heal. If you feel like now might be the time for change, I invite you to connect. I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation.
Sophia Ciniello, B.Ed, MSW, RSW
Individual, Couple and Family Therapist
Registered Social Worker
With education and training as a Secondary School Teacher, Social Worker and Psychotherapist, I bring to my psychotherapy 10+ years of social service experience, working with people of all ages within community agencies, hospitals, and private practice. In my psychotherapy, I work with individuals, couples, youth and families with issues including relationships, addictions, trauma, anxiety, depression and much more.
I am a non-judgmental, compassionate individual who practices from a holistic, and emotionally focused perspective. As a trauma-informed therapist, I seek to understand the root of presenting issues, as well as understanding how those issues may be impacting the present circumstances. As an EFT therapist I see the couple’s dance as the problem rather than either partner, which enables me to form a therapeutic alliance with both individuals in favor of healing the relationship.
I understand that life can be overwhelming, relationships challenging, and that making the decision to come to therapy is often the most difficult step. I believe in the process of therapy, and I will help you to unpack issues and resolve obstacles in your life, by establishing a therapeutic environment where you can feel safe, supported, heard, respected and understood. I look forward to connecting with you!
